Hi and Welcome to Revilo Nappies.
My name is Amy, the founder of Revilo Nappies. I want to tell you a little about how we started.
It all began in November 2018 when I found out I was pregnant. My dream was always to become a mum.
As any soon to be mum, I spent many hours researching what a baby requires for the first few years of life.
I soon realised that babies use about 7,000 nappies before toilet training. That is a lot of nappies going to landfill. It is estimated that it takes 500 years for a disposable to decompose.
After realising this, I wanted to try cloth nappies.
So, June 2019 rolls around. Our baby was a little naughty and decided to come into the world five weeks early. When Oliver was born, he only weighed 2.85 kg, he was so tiny even the cloth nappies I had purchased for him did not fit. So we used disposables for a short time. (At this time I was not aware of the small newborn trick linked here)
In this time of using disposables, our bin was overflowing. It broke my heart knowing that these nappies would end up in a landfill, this is just from my baby, imagine all the other piles of dirty nappies thrown away every day.
Finally, Oliver was big enough to wear cloth nappies.
That is where my love for cloth nappies started.
One late night I was up feeding Oliver and decided to create my own business sharing my knowledge of cloth nappies and selling them to mum's just like me at an affordable price.
Even if you use cloth nappies just for the home, it's one less nappy that would be going into landfill.
